Owl be thankful ...

.... Hi!  Can you believe it's already Friday - this week has simply flown by!!  In fact I spent most of yesterday thinking it was Friday - silly me!

I've a fun card to share with you this morning.  I used a few challenges to make it:

Owl Be Thankful - Photo by Deborah Frings - Deborah's Gems

Stamps: Impression Obsession - Owl Be Thankful
Inks: Versamark; Stampin' Up! - Early Espresso
Accessories:  SU Card - Early Espresso; Cream Lustre Card; Gold and White Embossing Powder; Copics - Y13, B12; Promarkers - Pumpkin, Walnut; Sakura Stardust Pen

I have to admit that I was rather stumped when I saw the cue word for this week's CASology challenge - brown - umm!!  When I saw Colour Q's challenge the brown didn't seem quite so daunting.  And I actually embraced the colour brown on this card - I made the card base from Early Espresso.  I stamped the branch in Versamark, embossed with white powder and left it as the leaves are so pretty.  I stamped the owl onto cream card and embossed with gold powder, coloured with alcohol markers and then cut it out and adhered it to the card with dimensional tape. I don't usually go for puns, but this sentiment is so sweet and pairs perfectly with the image.  On the inside I cut a panel of cream card and stamped the owl again.  I didn't include any further sentiment as I'll be sending this card to a friend in the UK.

Last night I was at a craft class run by Valerie Brinchick and held at my local store, Stampeddler Plus Memories.  The class was called "Messing with the Melting Pot" - using UTEE - ultra thick embossing enamel, and I made some lovely charms.  It was lots of fun; I'll post pictures later today.
