Christmas colours .....

.... Hello and good morning.  It's time for our colour challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and I think this is a classic combination - RED and WHITE - ONLY these colours are to be used in the design of your card.  Here's my take on our colours:

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Nordic Winter, Yonder Star
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Real Red; Memento - Tuxedo Black
Accessories:  SU Card - Real Red; White Lustre card

For me, red and white always suggests a Scandinavian/folk feel for a theme and I have just the perfect set of stamps!!  I stamped the borders in Real Red directly onto the card base.  I cut a thin panel of white card on which I stamped the stags and stars, mounted it onto Real Red card and attached to the card base.  I finished the front of the card with two sentiments centralised above and below the panel.  For the inside I cut a mat layer of Real Red and on the white panel I stamped the outline star and a bold sentiment.  As it's not the front of the card I used black for the sentiment.

Don't forget to visit our blog and check out the inspiration cards from the rest of the Team.  Have a super weekend.  See you soon.

  1. Beautiful cards, the first one reminds me of the jumpers that Val Doonican and Andy Williams used to wear :o)

  2. Definitely Nordic & I love the cross-stitch effect of the stamps which reminds me so of my childhood & many patterns that I associate with the Scandinavia.

  12. Like several of the previous commenters, I think the stitched look of your card is great! Excellent job centering the images on the card front. I tend to be a perfectionist about that in my own stamping and I know it isn't always easy!

  13. I really like the idea to do the card in "cross stitch"
It gives a touch of yesteryear, who is back in fashion! I love to cross stitch when I have some time....

Thank you for your nice comment.
