CR84FN65 - Bon Anniversaire ....

..... Good morning all!  I can't believe that it's already the middle of October and time for our new colour challenge.  For the next week and a half, our CR84FN65 colours have a soft, subtle palette of - light pink, tan and cream - so very pretty!

What a super quote we have this week - and so very true!!  I like Mark Twain's quotes - sort of pithy!!!  Aren't the inspiration photos (courtesy of Martha Stewart) super too?  Here's my take on the our colours.

Stamps: Uniko Studio - Pure Florals: Gerbera, Wonderful Washi; Waltzingmouse - French Country
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake
Accessories:  Stampin' Up! Card - Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette, SU Design Paper - Bridesmaid (discontinued); Embossing Powder

I decided to make an anniversary card for my stash.  I used the sketch from Mojo Monday - MOJO 262 for the layout, and the big circle suggested a big flower!!  So I used this super Gerbera.  I stamped it in Versamark and heat embossed with clear powder.  To add definition to the flower I rubbed Crumb Cake ink all over the image, wiped off the excess and then fussy cut it out!  I used Very Vanilla card to make the base and the little banners.  The main panel was made from layers of card and design paper - I like the pattern on this paper, sadly it is no longer available and I'm fast running out!!  I finished off with this sweet sentiment in French from WMS French Country - it just seemed to fit.

I've been looking at this card while typing this post and wish I'd added a narrow crumb cake border to all the little banners!  Darn!

Anyway, for more gorgeous inspiration cards from the Design Team, click on the links below or go directly to the CR84FN blog!  Looking forward to see your creations.

Bye for now - have a super day!

  4. the banners are a lovely way of adding interesting patterns without being overwhelming & I love the way you've made the flower a focal point. The colours are lovely & soft - especially effective with your brown details of the gerbera.

  14. I love the banners as they are Deborah - you don't want everything on the card to have the same prominence. An absolutely stunning card! Vicky x
