I realised this morning that it's my brother-in-law's birthday tomorrow and I hadn't made a card for him. So, this is it and it's going to be late! I've used two challenges in the making of the card and CASEd one of Ardyth's fabulous cards. The challenges are:
- Less is More - LIM65 - a super sketch challenge
- Charisma Cardz Challenge - CCC16 - Black, blue and white
Sadly, I missed the deadline for the Charisma challenge, but the colours are perfect for a masculine card, so I stuck with them. I used my new Paper Smooches background stamp to make the focal image, but only stamped a small section. I stamped directly onto some vellum and heat embossed the image with clear powder, then coloured the squares on the reverse. I layered the vellum square onto die cut white and black card. I finished off with a simple sentiment. Hopefully, Tim should get this card next week.
Stamps: Paper Smooches - Hip to be Square; Uniko Studio - Extra Time
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black; Memento - Tuxedo Black
Spellbinders: Standard Squares Sm (S4-128) #5, Standard Square Lg (S4-126) #5
Promarkers: Royal Blue, Cobalt Blue
Accessories: Clear embossing powder; Card from stash;
Here's the LIM sketch and Ardyth's card - I do like the jewel look to Ardyth's card!
This is such a pretty card - check out Ardyth's blog - she makes fab cards!
Before I do, I've been promising photos of the house - well it's not quite ready yet, but I thought I'd share a few photos of the my craft room - it's still something of a work in progress ;)
That's all for now. I really must get back to the unpacking. We are having an Open House party tomorrow - and I need to make sure that the boxes in the family room and dining room are unpacked (or at least hidden!). I'll be back on Sunday with my card for this week's CR84FN53 challenge - see you then!
I'm sensing a need for some temporary cupboards if all that stash is anything to go by!
ReplyDeleteHope you get your unpacking finished in time to enjoy your party.
The card is fabulous - I like the multicoloured original but your blue on blue is perfect for a fella.

Super card, Deborah!
ReplyDeleteHave lovely day tomorrow, it should be fun meeting all your new neighbours.
Don't worry, my craft room looks like that all the time until we get our bedrooms sorted out x
Wow! I love how you used only part of the stamp - it's visually dramatic and I love it in blues. Thanks so much for CASing my card, and reminding me of something I always forget (especially when using big background stamps) - you don't have to use the whole thing!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your party on the weekend. I smiled when you bracketed 'hidden' - that would be my method! LOL!
Fabulous card and love the blue tones...what a lovely big craft room you have I do envy you....

ReplyDeleteLooks like you might be getting there Deborah!I shall look forward to the pics of the finished job!
ReplyDeleteSuper card!
Thanks so much

An intriguing stamp & interesting way of using it too. As for your unpacking - I don't envy you that task at all. It certainly looks as if you have your hands full with stash! Still - I'm sure the Open House Guests won't be wanting to craft...........
ReplyDeleteHave a super weekend.
Paula (PEP)
Fabulous guy card, Deborah! Looks like a lovely bright space for your craft room! Good luck with all the unpacking!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great card for a chap! Lovely and graphic, and the colours are a masculine mix too.
ReplyDeleteI don't envy you the unpacking and sorting out Deborah, but it must be so nice to know that you have finally got all your craft stuff!
Enjoy your party xx
