A one for two ....

...  not the most creative of titles, but accurate!  I've made this card for two challenges.  The first is this week's CAS-ual Fridays - CFC27 - Over the Edge, and I'm only just in time for this one.  The second is Less is More - LIM40 - use orange and red (it's a colour challenge this week).

This week's LIM challenge launched on 5th November, which in the UK is Bonfire Night.  The evening of bonfires and fireworks commemorates the Gunpowder plot - the failed attempt to assassinate King James I of England and VI of Scotland in 1605.  Chrissie and Mandi have picked the bright and brilliant colours of many fireworks - orange and red - for their challenge.

My card celebrates another annual event in the year - Christmas!!!  I started off by embossing some white card with snowflakes and then spraying on some pearl Cosmic Shimmer.  Next I stamped my favourite little snowman onto white card, coloured him with Promarkers and then cut him out and added a bit of sparkle.  The sentiment was free with one of my magazines and it's simplicity works really well for this card - it's also been coloured with promarkers.  Another card for my 2011 Christmas card collection.

Stamps:  Funstamps - Scribble Snowman; Noel - free with craft magazine
Inks:  Memento - Tuxedo Black
Promarkers: Poppy, Bright Orange, Pastel Blue, Blender pen
Accessories:  Cosmic Shimmer - Pearl Mist; Cuttlebug - Ice Crystals; Card and glitter from stash

We're getting quite exciting here.  Our tickets are booked, I sorted out the travel Visas and we are now beginning to think of what to pack.  The weather in Detroit is likely to be quite a bit colder than we're used to here in North Wales - so we need to make sure we have warm clothes.  And trying to get Kathryn to wear jumper and cardigans is always tough!!

Anyway, that's all for now - Mum's back from her walk and it's time for lunch.  I'll be back later as I'm busy catching up with challenges!!
