CR84FN38 - birthday ....

... time is marching along so quickly - we're already well into September - and time for the new CR84FN colour challenge.  So for the next two weeks our CR84FN38 colours are - bright pink, black and grey (silver) - very luxurious colours!!

I love the inspiration photos - lots of stationery items, graphic images, striking colours - all courtesy of Leslie at A Creative Mint.

I've gone for something a bit different to my normal card - there's NO stamping at all!  I have a cupboard full of the most wonderful foiled, flourished and glittered card from Kanban and I hoard it.  But I've decided I have to use it.

There's lots of bright pink metallic card in a variety of finishes and styles, but I finally settled on this pretty pink frame which I placed over some text paper saying Happy Birthday.  Then I simply made several mats in silver, black and silver and then mounted the layers onto my card base.  To give some glamour to the card I used these gorgeous die cut flowers and simply added a bit of bling - in bright pink - to complete the card.

Card: Silver and black card, pink frame, text paper, die cut flowers - all Kanban
Accessories:  Gems from stash - coloured with Magenta promarker

This was not a quick card to make - it took me much longer than normal - but I'm pleased I've made the effort to use the card - it really is beautiful in real-life.  It was, however, really, really difficult to get a good photo.  I ended up asking Jonathan to take the photo!!

Now, if you'd like to see more inspirational cards with these fabulous colours, please do check out the Design Team's blogs:

And we're pleased to be joined by our Guest Designer - Marie Oberg - please do check out her blog and leave some love!!

That's all for today.  It's going to be really busy here - we have to get Kathryn's bags packed, as she's off for a school outward bound course on Monday.  The school have provided a list of items that Kathryn needs to take with her - and she has to carry it all!!  I'm hoping that the weather will be better next week than it's been in the week just gone!!  See you tomorrow!
