Play Date Cafe ....

... I was beginning to think I'd miss this challenge - the Play Date Cafe colours this week are orange, yellow and aqua - and I couldn't think what to do.

So I decided to have a look through my Stamp Catalogue to try and rustle up inspiration - and it came!!!  The colours give me a western/Mexican feel, so I settled on my lovely western inspired stamps from Waltzingmouse.  And here's my card:

The yellow and orange reminded me of a nice blanket, so I made a backing layer to look like a woven blanket.  I decided to try and create a desert scene using these colours.  I used the turquoise for the distant mountains and stamped it off once before applying it to the card - gives a lovely misty feeling, I repeated this with the orange and completed the image with the cacti in the foreground.  I added the sentiment in turquoise.  And I had to add the Sun too!

We're having a bit of a family get together in August, so I'm going to post this to my Aunt with a small note - can't wait to see them.

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Back in the Saddle, Way Out West, Half Pint Heroes
Inks:  Stampin' Up! - Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Yellow, Tangerine Tango
Accessories:  Card from stash
I had a super time out with Mum this morning - we had some pampering, some retail therapy and a nice coffee!  A great way to spend the morning.  This afternoon, the promised rain arrived and it's still rather grey, but quite warm.  I'd sort of like it to rain a bit more this evening - the garden and plants really need a good long soak!

Now, I must apologise for the confusion with my posts this morning - I amended an old post - and when it re posted - it jumped to today's date!!   I'll be back later this evening - I've another card to share!  See you then.
