Combined challenges ....

... it's been a busy old day!!  Despite being on crutches, I managed to get to craft class this morning; Peter, my friend's husband, was kind enough to pick me and take me and my stash to the class.  He took me home too!  You know, when you have difficulties, that's when you find out who will really help out in a crisis!!  I've got lots of good friends.  And this afternoon I took deliver of a new Sky HD+ box - it's smaller, has a bigger storage capacity and works!!  I watched some Wimbledon in HD this afternoon - looks amazing!!!

I didn't get to play in my craft room yesterday - I spent the day with my Mum - watching some TV and chatting - it was great.  However, I did manage to play this afternoon.  And I made a card that cover two challenges.  The first is CAS-ual Fridays - where they want us to use colour blocks, and the second is Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.  This one is a bit different - it's WMSC52 - the challenge is a year old and we can pick any of the previous sketches.  The first time I did this challenge was WMSC15 - so I went back to that one and had another go!

My card is really clean and simple - for the colour blocks I've used a paint colour card, trimmed down to fit on the card base.  I stamped one of the lovely doilies onto the card in basic grey, attached the paint card and then added a simple die cut sentiment.  Quick and easy.

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Dainty Doilies Small
Inks: Stampin' Up! - Basic Grey
Accessories:  Die cut sentiment - Cuttlebug, Paint sample (Dulux) and card from stash

Here's the card I made last year using the WMSC15 sketch - full details are here.

That's all for now - I'm off to get dinner for us all and then sit down with a glass of wine and watch the Wimbledon review.  See you later.

  2. HOW cool is that paint swatch card? Why I say it's the COOLEST! At first I thought it was graphic art that you created with your computer! Love the colors and the fun doily peeking out at the top. Great job incorporating that sketch, Deborah!

  7. Nice work! It's such a fun way to use those colour swatches - coupled with the lace stamp, that's almost like industrial meets girly. Awesome.
