Waltzingmouse Sketch .....

... We've had a wonderful lunch at a super pub in Chester, and we were able to sit in the garden enjoying the warm spring day, listening to the birds and having the most delicious meal!!  And in the company of good friends!

And I've been so busy since we got back getting ready to go to the festival, that I wasn't sure whether or not I'd get chance to play along with this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge - WMSC47 - the sketch has been drawn by Edna Morrisedie - and it's lovely.

But it's taken me all week to come up with my card for the challenge.  However, I woke up this morning knowing exactly what I was going to make.  I used the lovely stamps from Faux Fun to make a ribbon for the top of the card.  I inked each stamp with Versamark and then the coloured ink on top - then I was able to apply clear embossing powder - the result is a ribbon that has some texture and shine.  I then used Big Blooms - Chrysanthemums to make the backing paper.  I decided to make a feature flower with the middle size flowers - again they've been embossed, and I layered the flower finishing with a pretty brad.  The sentiment comes from Say It Loud - and I'm happy to shout this from the rooftops!!!!

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Say It Loud, Faux Fun, Big Blooms - Chrysanthemums
Inks:  Stampin' Up! - Rich Razzleberry, Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink; Versamark
Accessories:  Stampin' Up! Filigree brad; Card, embossing powder from stash

This card is for my darling husband - one for him to take to India and to keep him company during the monsoon season!!

And that really is all for now.  I'm off to finish our packing and for a rummage in the garage to find our tent and sleeping bags!!  I do have a few posts scheduled - so long as Blogger plays nice!!  Take care.

  4. What a gorgeous tonal effect and I love that you've used the same image in layers throughout the card. The cut-out sentiment is also very effective. Glad you enjoyed a lovely lunch - sounds as if you're about to become very busy again! Vx
