Less Is More 15, Part 3 ....

.... here's another one for the one layer embossing challenge that Lady LIM and Diva LIM have given us this week at Less is More

You know that sometimes you forget things - well today I completely forgot that my Mum had to go into hospital for an operation on her eye.  I only remembered when my Uncle rang to tell me that the op had gone well and Mum was home resting!!  Me in the kitchen saying "what do you mean, she's doing okay?" - he had to remind me.  So, hanging my head in shame, I rushed into my craft room to make a card specially for Mum.

I've gone for a really clean and simple design.  Well the design is simple, the image is not!!  I drew the frame by hand.  Okay, I used one of the large Spellbinder mega rectangles and marked the corners on my card and then used a fine liner to join the dots - worked really well.  Then, using my stamp-a-ma-jig, I stamped the image and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder.  Finally, I added a very simple greeting - I went for a tiny sentiment - didn't want to compete with the image.  The sentiment is from Say it Loud by Waltzingmouse - I think this one is a whisper!!! :)

Stamps:  La Blance (I think) - bought this from QVC; Waltzingmouse - Say it Loud
Inks:  Versafine - Onyx Black
Accessoreies:  Card and clear embossing powder from stash

This is a really beautiful image and I have to own up to the fact that it's the first time it's seen ink!  Well, apart from when I stamped my catalogue image.  I don't know why I haven't used it more - it's gorgeous with so much fine detail.  Below is a close up photo of the image - just so that you can really see the detail!

And now I'm off to get this in the post - I feel absolutely awful that I'd forgotten about Mum's operation.  I'll be phoning her later today to have a chat - she's sleeping at the moment.  My my defence, I have been rather concentrating on Jonathan coming home tomorrow - actually, not sure that a good enough reason.  Bye for now!!

  8. Shame on you! Only joking - I do that all the time lately my mind is like a sieve - even missed my own hospital appointment which I have never done before. I blame technology - if I don't get a reminder on my phone these days I can't remember anything!!! I'm sure she'll not even realise and the card and phone call will make up for it anyway.
