Less is More 15 and Jingle Belles ....

... I love it when two challenges just come together in my mind and the end result is what I imagined!!   Oh yes, you want to know what it is!!

This week the challenge from Chrissie and Mandi for Less is More 15 - is embossing; either dry or heat, or both!!  And the challenge at Jingle Belles is to feature St Nicholas or Santa to most of us!!  I decided to have a go at both heat and dry embossing for my card.

I found the appropriate Cuttlebug folder, stamped a suitable image, added a sentiment and some sparkle - card done!!  That sounds quick, but it wasn't really.  I took a couple of attempts to get the embossed frame right!

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Frame-It; Rubber Stampede - Santa Collage (3408F)
Cuttlebug:  Snowflakes Embossing Folder
Inks: Versafine - Onyx Black
Accessories:  Clear embossing powder, chalks and Glamour Dust (Crystal) from stash

As you can see, I embossed a frame of snowflakes into which I stamped my Santa image.  This was heat embossed with clear powder and has a fantastic shine.  I added some colour to Santa's face and eyes with chalks - subtle, but definitely there (see below).

I also added some sparkle - afterall, it's a Christmas card and you have to have sparkle on Christmas cards.  I used my glue pen on some of the embossed snowflakes and dotted around the snow on the stamped image, then sprinkled on the Glamour Dust.  In real-life the card has such a pretty sparkle.

I've been checking the LIM blog and seen some fantastic cards already - and some people are already on their second card!!  I'm sure I'll do another before the end of the week.  But probably not today.  I'll be back later this evening with one more card to share - and then I'm going to sit down and "enjoy" Eurovision.  Go Blue!!!
