CR84FN23 ...

.... and so another week zooms past!!  And here we are again, time for this week's CR84FN colour challenge.  Mona has come up with a really elegant and feminine set of colours this week - light pink, black and cream.  Just gorgeous!

I love the inspiration photos, and that cameo necklace is just fabulous.  The pictures are courtesy of Martha Stewart - her site is always worth a visit!!  As soon as I saw the colours for this week's challenge, I knew who I'd be making the card for.  I have a friend who is the most elegant of women, and she loves black accented with most colours.  So this card is for Kath's birthday - which is at the end of the month, but I'm getting ahead as I'm off on holiday soon (more of that later).

The base card is a lovely pearly cream and it has a subtle pattern on it which, sadly, doesn't show on the photo!!  The backing paper is by Pink Petticoat and comes from a set that I got free with Quick Cards magazine.  The black lace square is in fact a stamp that I got from Joanna Sheen (don't remember the name). I stamped it, using Versamark, onto some vellum and then heat embossed it with a black sparkle powder - it has a fabulous shimmer.  I mounted it onto the largest of the new Spellbinders Fleur de Lis squares - I used a super pale pink textured mirri card.  The cream lace rose was a gift from Kath - it was one she found when going through her mum's old sewing box.  Finally, I added a tiny birthday sentiment - these are from Dawn Bibby; I really like the small peel offs.

Stamps:  Joanna Sheen - Lace Stamp
Spellbinders: Fleur de Lis Squares (S4-318) #4
Paper:  Pink Petticoat - Vintage Rose Collection
Accessories:  Card, ribbon, embossing powder, lace rose, peel offs - all from my stash

I know that the rest of the Design Team have come up with some wonderful cards for this challenge, do drop by and check out their work and don't forget our Guest Designer for the month of April, Silke Ledlow.

I have a very busy day ahead.  I mentioned earlier about a holiday.  Well, Kathryn and I are going to Mumbai in India.  We are going out to see Jonathan, my husband, who's been out there on business since the middle of February.  As you can imagine, we are both looking forward to seeing Jonathan.  So I've got to sort out the packing, schedule some posts for while I'm away and make sure the house is clean and tidy before we leave.  As I said - BUSY!!

That's all for now - for full details of the challenge check out the CR84FN blog, and I look forward to visiting your blogs and seeing your cards.  Bye for now.  See you tomorrow!

Edited:  Oops!!  In the madness and mayhem of holiday preparations, I mixed my dates - I'm sending birthday greeting to Sue next week :))))  So I'll join the team now in sending Sue Happy Birthday greetings from the UK!!
