Some challenges ...

... and they're Christmas cards, so I'm managing to finish my Christmas cards and do some challenges - brilliant I love multi-tasking!!  And the challenges that I've been working on are from Clean & Simple - FTL120, and The Play Date Cafe - PDCC60.  The sketch from Clean & Simple is great and so appropriate for Christmas, so I've done a literal interpretation of the sketch.  When I first saw the colour challenge I couldn't think what to do, but actually it's been much easier than I thought and not only have I combined the FTL120 layout with PDCC60, but I've made an extra CAS design for the PDCC60.

And the cards I've come up with, first the combination challenge card - Crystal snowflake in yellow!!  The paper started off just black and grey, I added some yellow using Marvy le Plume Daffodil Yellow.  The ribbon is from my stash.  The pale yellow glitter paper was perfect for the crystal snowflake die (Cuttlebug) - I added a little extra sparkle with glamour dust around the snowflake.  The greeting is cut using Spellbinders Labels 14, the border and greeting are from Waltzingmouse sets.  Really pleased with this card.

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Holiday Labels No 14, Festive Foliage
Cuttlebug:  Snowflake Die
Paper:  Dawn Bibby - QVC Kit
Ink:  Distress - Mustard Seed
Spellbinders:  Labels 14
Accessories:  Ribbon from stash; Glamour Dust;  Glitter paper

The other card is really clean and simple.  Again the base card is black - the yellow shows up so well on black.  The frame and Christmas tree are from Waltzingmouse Stamps - do love those stamps!!  The greeting is from Nutcracker Sweet - and is Dutch for Merry Christmas.  I coloured the tree with Twinkling H2Os - iridescent gold.  Finally, I added a yellow gem in the star.

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Frame- It, Nutcracker Sweet
Twinkling H2Os:  Iridescent Gold
Embossing Powder:  Stampendous - Detail White
Accessories:  Gems

I've still got a few to do, very much in the Christmas spirit now - the house is warm and cosy, there's Christmas music on the radio and while it's cold, the sky is blue and the sun is shining.  Perfect day.  Do come by again soon - lots more to show you later.
