Birthday Greetings ....

.... Just a quick post to share with you today.  I made a birthday card for my Father-in-law who is celebrating his birthday today.  I actually made this card last month and mailed it before we left for America.  It's the earliest I've been with Simon's card!!

I like the whole steampunk theme and decided to give it a go on this card.  I started off with some printed paper from Kanban, adding some ink at the edges and then randomly stamping in black and dark brown other images.  I also added some colour to the edge of the card base.  I stamped a ticket onto white card and embossed it, cut it out and then added some colour.  The other ticket and birthday sentiment were stamped on to the reverse side of the printed paper - it has a lovely leather look.  I finished off the card by attaching some glitter cogs all over the card.

Stamps:  Kanban - Explore, Cogs; Papermania Urban - Around the World 1 and 2
Inks:  Versafine - Onyx Black; Distress - Black Soot, Walnut Stain
Accessories:  Kanban DP; Glitter peel offs; Clear Embossing powder and card from stash

I hope everyone has had a very good Easter.  That's all for now - back soon.

Steam punk is great for guy cards, and I'm sure your FIL would love this, Deborah. I really like the silver metal look and your cogs look very realistic.

Hope you are all enjoying your new home and surroundings x

I too rather like the steampunk theme but haven't played very much with it yet. Love your mixture of brown, black & silver.
